An Event Honoring Tom Wales And Victims Of Gun Violence

Tom Wales was president of Washington CeaseFire at the time of his shooting death in October 2001. The annual Tom Wales Memorial 5k (3.1 miles) run/walk and the 1/2-mile kids' dash was established in Tom's memory and is dedicated to all victims of gun violence.

Proceeds from the event benefit the education program of Washington CeaseFire, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing gun violence through public awareness and common-sense legislation, a cause Tom was tirelessly passionate about.
