The 7th Annual Tom Wales Memorial 5K
Thank you so much to all who came out to run and remember loved ones lost to gun violence. It was a great pleasure to see all of you there. A special thanks to Seattle Mayor Nickels, Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske, and King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg as well as all of our sponsors and hard-working volunteers.
"There is much work to be done;" may we all continue to work for more peaceful communities. Lives rememembered, and the hope of one less life lost, our warmest gratitude to you all.

An Event Honoring Tom Wales And Victims Of Gun Violence
Tom Wales worked as a federal prosecutor for 18 years at the United States Attorney's Office in Seattle specializing in white collar crime. For six years prior to his murder in October 2001, Tom worked tirelessly and passionately as president of Washington CeaseFire. The annual Tom Wales Memorial 5k (3.1 miles) run/walk event was established in Tom's memory and is dedicated to all victims of gun violence.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Youth Outreach and Education program of Washington CeaseFire, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing gun violence through public awareness and common-sense legislation.
